During the month ahead I am going to look at some of the classic film reviews I wrote and posted on the IMDb– and to make it fun, I am going to try to guess why some were rated so high (or rated so low).
My review for ABOUT MRS. LESLIE…my most successful review, and I think I know why.
My review for IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE…my lowest rated review but one of my favourites.
My review for LADYBUG LADYBUG…it has a rare broadcast on TCM July 9th.
My review for BEHAVE YOURSELF!…a fun review about a Shelley Winters comedy.
My review for LADY BY CHOICE…it conveys why I think the film was made.
My review for THE RUNAWAY…in 2009 TCM aired this beautiful and still unreleased film. It needs to be broadcast again. If sharing my review leads to the programmers putting it back on the schedule, then what I wrote will not have been in vain.
My review for NORA PRENTISS…I think my appreciation for Ann Sheridan comes through.
My review for DIAL 1119…it’s a bit more wicked than my other write-ups.
My review for JOURNAL OF A CRIME…it’s most similar to James Agee’s style, something I tried hard to emulate during a phase of reviewing.
My review for PHFFFT…this one makes me want to watch the film again.
Join me in July!
